Should I bring my baby out before the 2 month mark to have newborn pictures taken?

Hi! I haven't written a blog post in ages! It's been a wild run and Iv'e been having so much fun with all my newborn clients. Throughout my entire career I have been asked many different questions but one that comes up more often than others is "Should I be taking my baby out the house before the two month mark". Now I completley understand that this is a very valid question/ concern!

Many times I am asked if I travel to client's homes for sessions. I exclusively photograph posed newborn sessions in my studio on Staten Island in NYC. This gives me the freedom to use all my props, different backdrops, and also gives my clients the peace of mind of not having to clean their entire house for my arrival. Newborn Sessions are typically photographed within the baby's first 2-3 weeks of birth. The first few weeks are very crucial and we try to schedule our sessions within that time frame because that's when we achieve all the very sleepy/posed shots. Sometimes the concern over bring a baby out before they have all their shots comes up. This is a concern I completley understand especially that it's something that has been hammered into the client's heads since the beginning stages of pregnancy. Bringing a little one to a small intimate clean studio is a completley different scenario than a public shopping mall, busy restaurant, or a crowded subway. Our studio is cleaned and sanitized before and after each session. Outfits are always washed and steamed before we put them on to our little clients. Our top priority is safety and hygiene. There is only one photographer (fully vaccinated) on staff per client. We also have a full parking lot that allows you to exit your car and walk straight into our studio without having to enter any other public spaces.
